Passing of Hans Schneider Owner Moose Jaw Plumbing and Heating

Hans Schneider passed away at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital on Sunday, May 8th, 2011 at the age of 82 years. Hans was born on September 12th, 1928 in Hanunin, Poland. He came to Canada in August 1949 to his uncle’s farm at Spring Valley. He worked at various jobs in Moose Jaw while completing his high school education. In 1956 he married Dorothy Evans of Moose Jaw. In 1965, Hans began training at VanIderstine, Noren & Company. In 1966, he commenced work in the office of Moose Jaw Heating and Plumbing. In 1975, Hans took ownership of the company and was actively involved until his passing. In 2005, the company celebrated 100 years of continued service to Moose Jaw and area. Crestview Roofing was established in 1985 and both companies continue to operate. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Alma and Hilda; half brother, Jacob and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Hans is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; three daughters: Jean (Brian) Bohn, Anne (Dana) Pretzer and Susan; grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeffrey, Erin (Alex), Evan and April; great-grandson, Gabriel; two sisters, Ann Huber and Lilli Watt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ruth (Harold) Riddell, Isabelle Dahl, Everett Evans and Hazel Belsher; and many nieces, nephews and good friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 13th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend John Kreutzwieser will officiate. Donations in Hans’ name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, SK. S6H 1H3 or to a charity of one’s choice.
