Allan Pozniak

( January 9, 1953 - July 12, 2024 )

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Allan Pozniak announces his sudden passing on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the age of 71 years.
Allan Kenneth Pozniak was born on January 9, 1953, to Peter and Olga (nee Demyd) Pozniak in Canora, SK. He attended school at Dobrowody, Rama, and finished his education in Invermay. He went on to Saskatoon to attend Siast to become a Journeyman Pipefitter. He worked at jobs in Estevan, Esterhazy, Rocanville, Piapot, Key Lake and Regina Upgrader. He helped his dad and brother, Gerald, farm in between jobs.
In 1974, he met his future wife, Rose Marie, at the Lunn Hotel in Canora, where she was working. They got married in October 1975. They purchased their current homestead in April 1976 and started their family. They were blessed with two children, Allan Kenneth, and Heather Marie. Allan continued working jobs and farming and ultimately decided to farm full-time in 1985 with his dad and brother.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and visiting family. He loved when his grandchildren came to stay over and they all enjoyed the before bed cookies and milk snack routine he started with each of them, including the dog, Molly.
He will be most remembered for his love of hearing a good story, and the telling of a good story, even if you tried not to count how many times he said the word "whatever."
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Allan was predeceased by his grandparents, Alex and Katie Demyd and Harry and Mary Pozniak; his father, Peter; his parents-in-law, George and Sophie Kuzek; and his youngest sister and brother-in-law, Marianne and Regg Fogg.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; his son, Allan Jr. and his wife, Heather; his daughter, Heather and her partner, Michael; his grandchildren: Xander, Peyton, Chloe, and Natalie; his mother, Olga; and his sisters and brothers: Sandra, Gerald (Deb), Karen, Margaret (Mark), Shirley, and Ivan (Monica); as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2024, from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK, with Rev. Fr. Ivan Simko officiating. Rite of Committal followed in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Cemetery, Dobrowody District, northeast of Rama, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Dobrowody Cemetery Fund, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Allan Pozniak.
