Domenico Ranalli

It is with the deepest of sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Domenico Ranalli, a loving husband, father and grandfather. Domenico passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at the age of 80 years surrounded by his family.

Domenico was predeceased by his parents Ferdinando and Angela Ranalli; father-in-law and mother-in-law Anton and Regina Weisgerber; his brothers Edoardo, Francesco (late Marisa) and Guiseppe; and his sister Anunziatta. He was also predeceased by several other extended family members from both the Ranalli and Weisgerber families.

Domenico is survived and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 58 years, Jeanette (Weisgerber) - his true love and partner in life. Jeanette was his best friend and meant the world to him. He is also survived by his daughter Suzanne (Natalino) Di Iorio; son Joseph (Tawna) Ranalli; daughters Melissa Ranalli (Scott Murphy) and Melanie Ranalli Gartner (Daniel Gartner); treasured and deeply loved by Domenico were his grandchildren Lucas, Matteo, Marcus, Sophia, Liam, Otis, Gabriel and Jaiden. Domenico was very dedicated to his family and was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren. Domenico is also survived by his sisters Gabriella (late Adalgerio) Moretti, Maria (late Loreto) Ciccone, Fernanda (Fernando) Capelli and Berardina (Gino) Capelli; and by many extended family members both here in Canada and Italy.

Domenico was born in 1944, in San Demetrio, L'Aquila, Italy, to Ferdinando and Angela Ranalli. He immigrated to Canada in 1962. Domenico was an incredibly determined and hard-working man that dedicated his life to his true passion, the trade of welding. Domenico traveled across Western Canada welding the Trans-Canada Pipeline for many years where he made lifelong friendships; some of his best friends were his workmates. Domenico was also a welding instructor at Saskatchewan Polytech. He was a creator and entrepreneur who took risks, determined to succeed and provide for his loved ones. His career and projects fuelled his soul and enriched his life. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Friends and neighbours often sought his advice, knowing that Domenico's wisdom came not just from his experiences, but from a place of deep care and understanding. He was a pillar of strength for his family, a loyal friend, and a respected member of his community. His legacy is one of love, dedication, and the profound impact he had on those around him.

Domenico's life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, Saskatchewan on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan (https://www.cancerfoundationsask.ca/).
