Passing of UA Local 179 member Brad Gilchrist
April 28, 2025
Brad Gilchrist
February 14, 1975 - April 18, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brad
Gilchrist, a devoted family man, cherished father, and beloved friend, who left
us far too soon on Friday, April 18, 2025 in Regina, Saskatchewan, at the age
of 50.
Brad's life was centred around the deep love he had for his
children and wife, whom he adored beyond measure. His eyes lit up whenever he
spoke of them, and his greatest joy was being a dad. A man of quiet strength
and a razor-sharp wit, Brad had a way of making people laugh even in the
toughest moments. His sense of humor was as unique as it was uplifting -
clever, warm, and always well-timed.
He was a proud union man to his core hardworking, steadfast,
and unwavering in his principles. The union wasn't a job to him - it was a
brotherhood, a calling and a cause worth standing up for. He lived these values
every day - with quiet strength, dignity and heart.
Brad will be deeply missed by his loving wife Kandice
Gilchrist, his children Brady Gilchrist, Austin Herndier, Joey Herndier and
Zack Christante. He is survived by his mother, Leah Gilchrist; siblings Trevor
Gilchrist (Tamara), and Alisha Gilchrist (Corey); in-laws Loren and Cynthia
Ellis, sisters-in-laws Trina (Des) and Tara (Mike), and their families. He will
also be remembered by his extended family and all of his union brothers and
sisters and all those whom he touched.
Brad was predeceased by his father Dennis Gilchrist.
A come-and-go tea to honour Brad's life will be held on
Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Turvey Center (upstairs), 100
Armour Road, Regina. All are welcome to attend and share their memories.
Brad, not a day will pass that we won't miss you. You will
live on in our hearts and memories forever.
