Passing of UA Local 179 Member Douglas Cameron

Douglas Alexander
August 4, 1938 - January 7, 2013
Doug passed away unexpectedly after a short illness at the age of 74 years on
Monday, January 7, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents Dugald and Evelyn;
sister Jean McMillian; daughter Deborrah Deanne; mother and father-in-law
William and Celia Dutton. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46
years Eunice; sons Alexander (Joyce) Shane, Robert (Gulvinder) Shane all of
Victoria, BC and Terry (Deena) and granddaughters Jessica, Brittany and Brianna
of Regina, SK; daughters Diane (Curtis) Robinson and grandsons Ryan and Conner
of Surrey BC, Crystal (Jay) Cameron and granddaughter Sydney of Regina; brother
Gordon (Trudy) of Pense, SK, and their children Peter John and his daughters
Reegan and Jorie of Regina; Stuart (Sandra) and their children Emily and step
daughters Kylie and Alysa of Thompson, MB; and Brent of Port Albernie;
brother-in-law Wayne McMillan of Regina and his daughter Connie (Eldon) Bushell
and their children Chase and Sierra, son Scott (Tanya) and daughter Mikaylie.
Doug is survived by extended family and many friends. He leaves behind his
favorite feline friends Susan and Paulie. Doug was a devoted father and always
proud of his family.
Doug worked as a pipefitter with UA Local 179 for 45 years. He
traveled all over Canada and the USA working, most notably at the Darlington
Nuclear Power Plant, ON. As a longtime friend of Bill W., Doug spent years
volunteering and helping people in penitentiaries and jails. He was an avid
outdoorsman, enjoying his home in Regina Beach, hunting and fishing from MB to
BC. He was particularly proud of his getaway home in Pierceland. Doug was a
long time member of the Regina Beach and District Lions and the Grumpy Old
Men's Ice Fishing Club.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home,
Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing
may make donations in Doug's memory to Cornwall Alternative School, 40 Dixon
Crescent, Regina, SK S4N 1V4. Arrangements entrusted to
