Passing of UA Local 179 Member John Toporowski

TOPOROWSKI, John 1924 - 2013

John passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK on Saturday, April 13, 2013. He was born October 14, 1924 in Poland and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1929. John lived most of his life in Paddockwood on the family farm.
John served in WWII and was stationed overseas. During the 50's John became a journeyman plumber. He worked for Botting and Dent in Saskatoon and later for Centennial Plumbing in Prince Albert until retirement. John enjoyed outdoor activities such as: listening to birds, watching wildlife and checking the crops. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
John is survived by two brothers Peter (Pat) and Don (Lynn); two sisters Stella Montesano and Natalie Martin as well as several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Peter and Ksenia Toporowski; a brother Stanley; two sisters Mary Gill and Helen Stringer; as well as brothers-in-law Mike Krasowski, John Gill, Henry Montesano, Don Martin and Eric Stringer.
A sincere thank you to Dr. Rob Ardell and the nursing staff at the Victoria Hospital for the care and attention that John received. At John's request there will be no funeral. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
