Passing of UA Local 179 Member Joseph Mantyka

Joseph "Joe" Walter Mantyka
November 25th, 1938 - May 19th, 2013

On Sunday morning, at his home here in Saskatoon, Joe sat down on a chair in the shade by the garden he had just planted and quietly passed away. He was 74 years old. My Dad was a Husband, Father, Grandpa, Poppa, Brother, Uncle, Plumber, Business Partner, Farmer, Handyman, Fisherman, Neighbour and a good friend to all the many people in his life who knew him. He was predeceased by his wife Frances (2006), his daughter Laurie (1999) and his son Bradley (2006). He will be dearly missed by his daughter Cheryl, his partner Sharon, his sister Florence, his nephew Dale and their families. A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Saskatoon Funeral Home Chapel (338 Fourth Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK., S7K 2L7). Interment of Joe's cremated remains will take place at a later date. Those wishing to send an online condolence to the family may do so by e-mailing, mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com.
