Passing of UA Member Gary Pakula
May 5, 2015
Gary Wayne Pakula of Moose Jaw passed away May 5, 2015 at the age of 60. Gary was born October 29, 1954 in Moose Jaw. He entered the plumbing trade out of high school. He started in his Uncle Joe’s shop in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Throughout the years he worked on various projects across Canada. He was a meticulous tradesman, never missing a day of work and expected perfection on his job sites. He joined the UA179 Hall and attained his Journeyman Pipefitter status in 1991. To Gary, aside from his huge sense of humor, family was first and foremost and he was extremely proud of his boys. Camping and fishing with his boys was what he enjoyed most, spending summers at Buffalo Pound at their campsite. Gary is predeceased by his father Otto, Uncles Emil Pakula, Edward Pakula, Alfred Pakula, Joe Hawkeye, Bill and Aunt Anne Weed. He is survived by his mother Marg, sons Jesse, Stacey (Jesy), and Codey (Anita); and granddaughter Summer. For those so wishing memorial donations may be directed to the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Gary’s life, will be held at a later date. In living memory of Gary, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home
