Passing of Jun Hong Chen UA Local 527:
September 10, 2010
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Jun Hong Chen known to friends as Hong. Hong passed suddenly in Saskatoon St. Pauls Hospital with family by his side September 3, 2010. Hong was born in China Jan 24, 1981 and moved with his family to Canada in the summer of 1995. Hong and family are residents of Cambridge and Guelph Ontario. Hong was a respected and highly skilled UA Local 527 Alloy Pipe Welder. Hong was taught to weld as a young man by his father, but we are told by Jian that his son became the teacher. Hong was working in Saskatchewan for UA Local 179 as a welder to help build our province and make a better life for us and his family back home. We would like to thank the staff of St. Pauls Hospital for all their support and compassion. Hong is survived by wife Amy Brown, son Braydon 5yrs and son Ethen 7months, mother Xing Qu, father Jian, brother Jun Mian, sister Xue Bowman and husband Murray, two nephews and one niece, many friends and his UA Brothers and Sisters.
