DI ANTONIO, Vittorio It is with a heavy heart that the family of Vittorio Di Antonio announces his passing on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the age of 78. Vittorio was predeceased by his parents Maria and Domenico Di Antonio of Colle, Teramo, Italy and brother Luigi Di Antonio of Rome, Italy. Married for 52 years, Vittorio will be dearly missed by his loving and devoted wife, Cecilia. Leaving to cherish his memory are his children Roberto, Maria, Remo (Nanette Negri), and Linda; grandchildren Aaron and Alicia Wirth and Sara and Ava Di Antonio; brothers Guiseppe (Maria), Mario (Dorinda) and Constantino (Rita) of Canada; sisters Esterina (Guiseppe), Angelina (Guisseppe), Theresina (Coltura) of Italy and Albina (Jean) of France; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family throughout Canada and Italy. Vittorio was born in Colle, Teramo, Italy where he grew up and worked on the family farm. At age 16, Vittorio moved to Switzerland where he worked for several years. Encouraged by a good friend, he immigrated to Canada in 1956 with dreams of building a better life. In 1958, Cecilia joined him and they were married shortly thereafter, together raising four children. Vittorio is lovingly remembered for his devotion to his family, strong work ethic, generosity, quick wit and love for the outdoors. A CELEBRATION OF VITTORIO'S LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the General Hospital MPICU for the compassion and care they provided.
