Attention: All UA Indentured Apprentices

THIS IS A CALL for Registration as a Competitor for the 2013 UA 179 Provincial Apprenticeship Competitions.

All events will be at the UA 179 Pipe Trades Training Center in Saskatoon. The competitions will include a 3 hour theory and UA History Test specific to your Trade.

The shop projects will include layout of piping assemblies, measuring, jointing methods, tube bending, and welding, cutting, and brazing, and applying blueprints and specifications. In short, it is a good mix of a number of common practical piping configurations that each Competitor will be tested against his peers.

The dates are: Saturday, March 23^rd and Sunday, March 24^th.

In order to be on the Roster for the 2013 UA Provincial Pipe Trades Competitions, you will need to:

1. Complete the Apprentice Contest Application Form
2. Send the completed application to either the Saskatoon or Regina Training Office
3. You have up to March 8, 2013 to register with the Training Office. Our office at 402 Solomon Drive in Regina or 334 Robin Way in Saskatoon is looking forward to receiving your application.

Should you simply wish to volunteer during the Competition….Come on Down! This is a good way to mingle, give back to the UA, and have a real good time. Call the Training Office to get on the Competition Volunteer List. We need ushers, food service, tool crib, consumables, and computer/technical positions, etc.

In closing, I look forward to Apprentices from the 5 trades stepping up to the plate and competing in the Provincial Competition. The winners of this competition would advance to the Western Regional Competitions held April 10^th and 11^th, 2013 in Surrey, British Columbia.
