Trade School Instructor Position (Full-Time)

POSITION:  Trade School Instructor (Full-Time) 

LOCATION:  Regina, SK 

Responsibilities: 

·        Prepare and present learning outcomes/lesson plans for in-class and shop setting

·        Work directly with the Director of training and other SME’s across Canada to develop and maintain Levels 1-3 technical school training for Sprinklerfitting using the current RSOS and Curriculum guideline to be adopted by SATCC.

·        Manage instruction and delivery of curriculum with a safe and effective learning environment

·        Participation in course/curriculum development and training staff meetings

·        Evaluation of learning, testing and assignments

·        Provide on-going coaching, mentoring and tutoring for students to promote success and learning strategies

·        Utilize appropriate technologies for presentations, communications and program delivery

·        Respond to student issues

·        Improve quality of instruction through development and participation in instructor training course

·        Successfully complete the UA Instructor Training Program

·        Learn and embrace the current technology/computer programs used at the trade centre

·        Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications: 

·        Minimum 5 years experience in the Sprinkler & Fire Protection Trade

·        Red Seal Certification of Qualification of Sprinkler Fitter

·        Member of UA Local 179 (BT/J)

·        Computer competency (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

·        Desire to promote/participate in ongoing training and professional development

·        Energetic, self motivated, ability to work independently and well organized

·        Attention to detail, high retention to learned tasks, problem solving skills and excellent time management

·        Strong written and oral communication skills
