Passing of 45 year UA member Orrin Smith
September 20, 2022
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Orrin Luther Smith, beloved husband of Merinda Smith, at home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the age of 77 years.
Along with his wife Merinda, Orrin will be lovingly remembered by his children Karen Smith of Vancouver and Collie Smith of Calgary, and his sister Hazel MacKintosh. He was predeceased by three siblings.
Orrin was born on December 30, 1944 to Clara and Adolphus Smith of Jamaica and moved to Canada to marry Merinda at the age of 27 years. They shared 50 wonderful years together. Orrin was a devoted husband and father who had a passion for classic old songs.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Mountain View Funeral Home (Arbor Chapel, 1605 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. followed by a Graveside Service at Mountain View Cemetery.
The song is ended,
But the melody lingers on . . .
